The Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT) informs that the European Commission has launched a public consultation, open until 26 June 2026, on draft guidelines for trusted flaggers in the context of the implementation of the Digital Services Act (DSA).
The European Commission’s draft guidelines clarify, among other things, the criteria and procedure for granting trusted flagger status by the Digital Services Coordinators (DSCs). They also provide guidance on the technical requirements that trusted flaggers and online platforms must follow when processing notifications of illegal content.
In addition, the draft under consultation sets out measures to safeguard the integrity of the trusted flagger mechanism and prevent its misuse. The aim of the guidelines is to ensure that trusted flaggers remain independent, objective, and accountable, and that they are operating in full respect of freedom of expression.
For further information and to participate in the consultation, interested parties may visit the relevant European Commission webpage.
