Responsibilities

EETT, as the competent competition authority in the markets of electronic communications and postal services, ensures that undertakings operating in the markets under its competence act in a transparent manner and on equal terms, while safeguarding consumer protection:

  • intervenes, ex officio or following complaints, in order to prevent and/or suppress anti-competitive practices;
  • conducts ex ante control of concentrations of undertakings, in order to ensure that such transactions do not significantly impede effective competition;
  • imposes sanctions in cases where infringements, particularly anti-competitive practices, are identified;
  • collects and assesses information on the functioning of markets.
