Dr Antonios Kargas has been appointed Vice Chair for Postal Services of the Hellenic Telecommunications & Post Commission (EETT) in May 2026.
He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Business Administration at the University of West Attica.
He has more than 20 years of professional experience as a consultant and researcher and has participated in more than 20 research and development projects, at least nine of which were international. He worked as an Economist and Financial Expert in European projects related on the implementation of cost-benefit analyses for investments in electronic communications infrastructure in Western Balkan countries.
He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Share Fund of Civil Servants (MTPY) during the period 2020-2021. He has also served as Managing Director of a company specialising in the development of information technology applications in the field of cultural content, as well as Business Development Manager at a consulting company. He was a member of the Interim Governing Committee of the Professional Pension Fund of Economists (ETAO).
In addition, he served as Chairman, Member, and Special Expert on tender evaluation committees for major programmes and organisations, including the Operational Programme “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation” (EPAnEK), the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (HFRI), the National Infrastructures for Research and Technology network (GRNET SA), the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY), Information Society SA, and the Hellenic Development Company (ELANET).
Dr Antonios Kargas is a graduate of the Department of Economics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). He holds a Master’s degree and a PhD from the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the same University.
