EETT deregulates the market of retail fixed telephony
July 12, 2013
According to the European and national regulatory framework, EETT approved the deregulation
of the retail market for fixed line calls by residential and business customers within Greek
territory. The draft measures submitted by the Greek Regulatory Authority, after the completion of
the national public consultation were accepted by the European Commission without any comments. As
a result of EETT’s regulatory policy, the market of retail fixed telephony tends to be effectively
competitive to the benefit of consumers. In this context, EETT has decided to remove all the
regulatory obligations imposed on OTE.
