Ultra-Fast Broadband Infrastructure (UFBB)

The project “Ultra-Fast Broadband Infrastructure – ULTRA-FAST BROADBAND” (UFBB), approved by the European Commission with its decision C (2019) 5522 dated 31-07-2019 titled: “European Commission – State Aid SA. 53135(2019/N) – Greece – Ultrafast Broadband Infrastructure Scheme,” aims to develop next-generation infrastructure in rural, suburban, and urban areas that do not have access to ultra-fast broadband internet services.

The goal of the initiative is to develop a network capable of providing ultra-fast broadband connections to end users with speeds of at least 100 Mbps or at least 100 Mbps upgradeable to 1 Gbps.

Following an international tender, contracts were signed with the established special purpose company “UltrafastOTE Single-Member Private Company Special Purpose” (UltrafastOTE A.E.E.S.) while the consortium Grid Telecom – Terna Energy has been declared as provisional contractor.
