The Communications Committee (COCOM) consists of representatives of the member states of the European Union (EU) and has as its main role the forming of an opinion on the draft legislative acts that the European Commission intends to approve.
COCOM deals mostly with issues in relation to the establishment and operation of the digital single market, such as the Regulation on the measures applicable to the notification of personal data breaches and the development of 5th generation (5G) networks at European level. Greece is represented at COCOM by the General Secretariat of Telecommunications and Posts (GTT) of the Ministry of Digital Governance. EETT participates in COCOM meetings and provides expertise support to GTT.
