Public tender for the selection of Universal Service Provider in telecommunications

EETT’s Plenary, following the completion of the public consultation, approved the publication of
the notice of the call for tenders for the process of selecting the Universal Service Provider in
telecommunications (US).

According to the tender document, the process will conclude in selecting a provider or providers
for the entire or individual US services within the Greek territory, namely:

a) Provision of access at fixed locations and provision of telephone services

b) Telephone directory information service and subscribers’ lists

c) Public pay phones and other access points to public voice telephony

The US will begin on 01.01.2016 and will remain effective for at least three (3) years unless
the tenderer declares that is ready to offer the service earlier or would like to set a five year
period of service.

The bidding process will take place in two stages: on the first stage, stakeholders will submit,
along with their application form, the initial financial offer, while on the second a
multiple-round auction between contestants with decreasing price will be held.

Interested parties are invited to submit to EETT their application for participation in the
tender process by Monday, May 4 2015 between 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. EET. The notice of the call
for tenders, which includes details about the implementation of the process, is available at
