Wholesale Line Rental (WLR) is a new service available by the OTE to the alternative operators, in order for them to be able to rent a line by OTE and resell it to the final user. The service is available for PSTN and ISDN BRA lines.
The main advantage of WLR is that the alternative operator may provide telephone services to the user with one single bill. More specifically, it gives the possibility that the user of carrier preselection may not receive a second bill by OTE. Through the WLR service, he receives one single bill by the alternative operator. Furthermore, it is expected that the fixed price for telephone services will be reduced.
WLR is available by OTE since 15/12/2008. According to the WLR reference offer (EETT decision 478/115/6-5-2008), the maximum time period in which OTE is obliged to provide WLR to an operator is 5 days. There is no interruption of telephony services during the time period until the WLR service provision procedure in concluded.
