Tender procedures

EETT grants rights of use for radio frequencies through tender procedures in order to ensure:

  • The efficient, on both technical and financial terms, and non-discriminatory use of radio spectrum.
  • Avoidance of harmful interference.
  • Availability of the spectrum for a wide range of users and applications.

More specifically, it defines the procedure, the terms and conditions for granting rights of use for individual radio frequencies or radio frequency bands with a view to developing and providing electronic communications services/networks, so as to ensure the efficient use of such a scarce resource as the radio spectrum. Prior to launching a tender procedure, EETT conducts a relevant public consultation.

Since 2001, EETT has granted rights of use for more than 10 radio spectrum bands through tender procedures (available in Greek).
