The Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT) is organizing a
three-day, International Conference in Athens, entitled: “The Prospects of Broadband in the
Mediterranean” on 2-4 May 2006.
The goal of this event is to underline the importance of broadband for the economic
development of the region, the potential attraction of new investments and the participation of all
citizens in reaping the benefits of Information Society.
The Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic H.E. Mr. Kostas Karamanlis has been invited to
address this Conference, the European Commissioner Mme Viviane Reding has accepted to be the
Keynote Speaker at this event and the Minister of Transport and Communications Mr. Michalis Liapis
has been invited to give an opening speech.
