The Broadband Report Q2-2025 outlines the development of the Greek broadband market during the first semester of 2025. The main findings are:
- Fixed broadband connections amounted to 4.468.662 lines, registering a decrease of 21.247 lines compared to December 2024, with a 42.9% fixed broadband penetration in the population.
- The total access lines to Next Generation Access (NGA) networks deployed by providers, as part of the introduction of VDSL Vectoring/FTTH (Fiber to the Home) technology, reached 1.495.121, compared to 1.440.658 at the end of 2024. Their share of total broadband lines increased to 33.5% from 32.1% at the end of 2024.
- Broadband lines from OTE’s own infrastructure reached 2.094.909, showing a slight decrease compared to December 2024 (2.117.776 lines). Their share of total broadband lines reached 46.9% (down from 47.2% at the end of 2024).
- xDSL lines via LLU decreased to 706.693, from 780.373 at the end of 2024, with their share of total broadband lines falling to 15.8% from 17.4% at the end of 2024.
- Lines from other technologies accounted for 2.5% of broadband lines (up from 1.8% at the end of 2024), including, among others, Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), satellite lines, and fiber lines from alternative providers INALAN and HCN, provided via their own infrastructure.
- There was a significant increase in the percentage of ultra-high-speed broadband lines (nominal download access speed of 100 Mbps and above), which now account for 44.7% of the country’s broadband lines (up from 37.4% at the end of 2024).
- Finally, the total number of active mobile telecommunications connections that used data services reached 9.773.740, registering a population penetration rate of 94%.
