EETT grants temporary radio spectrum rights of use exclusively for experimental and research purposes to private bodies and research centers.

It is pointed out that this responsibility of EETT does not involve networks of public education institutions and other state networks. The rights are granted provided that there is availability of spectrum and that any technical and other conditions, provided for by relevant legislation, are fulfilled. If there is an interest for radio spectrum already in use by another user, it is possible to reassign the radio spectrum to the interested party, solely for experimental or research use, with the consent of the incumbent user.

Licensing conditions

Radio spectrum rights of use for experimental and research purposes are granted on a non-interference and non-protection basis to existing systems/radio spectrum uses, if any. Holders are solely responsible for complying with the conditions of the granted rights.

It should be pointed out that the use of these rights for the provision of electronic communications services to the public or in private is prohibited.

Radio equipment requirements

The radio equipment used is required to comply with the Directive 2014/53/EU on the making available on the market of radio equipment, also known as RED (Radio Equipment Directive), which has been transposed into Greek law by virtue of Presidential Decree No. 98/2017

The use of radio equipment which has not received a conformity certificate (in accordance with the provision of Presidential Decree No. 98/2017) is allowed on condition that the procedures provided for are followed and also the conditions referred to in the Presidential Decree No. 98/2017 are complied with.
