The Next Generation Access Networks (NGAs) are capable of reinforcing innovation and access to knowledge, raising customer choices and promoting Green Economy. However, accomplishing this poses a significant challenge, especially in a period of recession.
In search for the best possible solutions for the citizen and the society we organize our 5th International Conference of the Hellenic Telecommunications & Post Commission (EETT) entitled: “Next Generation Access Networks: Unleashing the Potential for the Citizen and the Economy” which will be held at “Dais” Conference Center on June 17th & 18th 2010. The aim of the Conference, catapulted by the presence of important international and Greek speakers, is to demonstrate the emerging new challenges and possibilities that the transition to NGA networks create on social, economic, developmental, and regulatory level.
More specifically, we turn our interest on the experience of the pioneering NGA applications around the globe and their potential development in Greece, the entrepreneurial challenges and strategies that will lead to their development, the regulatory measures that should be taken in order to encourage investment and protect the competition. In addition, two separate sections will deal with the dynamics of mobile broadband and the significance of NGAs as the necessary infrastructure for the digital transition and convergence between electronic networks and mass media.
