   Restrictions on the use of specific types of radio equipment as for example radar detectors and radio frequency spectrum scanners

   
 

Under the recently published Law on Electronic Communications (Law 3431/2006) the placing on the market, possession and use without a license of the following types of equipment is prohibited:

A) Equipment for the decryption of classified or encrypted messages or
B) Radio receivers whose function is to detect the presence of radar devices used for motor vehicle speed limit enforcement purposes or
C) Equipment for radiofrequency spectrum scanning and monitoring and decryption of emissions not intended for reception by the public.

The relevant licensing procedure will be regulated through a ministerial decision.
