According to the Vice President of the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post
Commission (EETT), Mr. Thodoris Dravillas, who delivered a speech at the ELTA Congress on "The new
reality in the Postal Market" held on February 10th, 2006, quality is the main criterion employed
by postal service users.
Mr. Th. Dravillas, stressed that in particular the Universal Postal Service is closely
related to Quality, which is a point to be considered by the Universal Postal Service Provider when
calculating the “cost of quality” in order to establish the suitable price to be paid by users.
He also stressed that based on measurements taken by EETT in recent years, the average time
for the delivery of domestic Priority mail to the addressee progressively decreases, but there is
still plenty of room for improvement in order to reach the Community average.
He also called upon all Postal authorities to set very high standards for the years to come,
aiming at the same time to increase overall market size in order to be able to stand tall in a
market progressively moving towards liberalization.
