The Thessaloniki office of the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT) in cooperation with the Police Department launched on January 19th, 2006 an operation to locate and cease the operation of an illegal radio station broadcasting at 87.8 MHz, and with the name of «Dimotiko Radiofono Lachana » at the Lachana area of Thessaloniki. The operation was performed following the adoption of decision by the Greek National Council for Radio and Television (NCRTV) ordering the cessation of operation of such station.
In the context of the automatic procedure, the Thessaloniki Police Department confiscated the entire broadcasting equipment of the foregoing station.
