Andrea Costa
Vice-Chairman & CEO, Tellas S.A.
Andrea Costa was born in Milan in 1960. He completed his studies in economics in 1986 in the University of Milan.
He acted as a Consultant on telecom business, public procurement and regulation standards during 1986-1991, being parallel Head of the Economic Department of `Consorzio Milano Ricerche` (1988-1991), Professor of Industrial Economics and Head of Industrial Policy in the Italian ANIE (Italian Electronics Entrepreneurial Association).
In 1995 he was appointed Director of Regulatory Affairs in the second Italian mobile operator Omnitel Pronto Italia S.p.a. (now Vodafone Italia).
As a Director of Strategic Planning in Enel S.p.a. (1997-1998), he was responsible of administrating the company's entry in the telecom industry with the creation of Wind, where he has been appointed Director of Strategy & Regulatory Affairs managing and implementing, among others, the introduction of LLU and the introduction of broadband, whereas at the same time he has been Vice-Chairman of `WIND PPC Holding` and `Tellas S.A.`
Andrea Costa has been the “architect” of the shareholders agreement between `WIND SpA” and`PPC S.A.`, agreement which resulted in the establishment of Tellas and brought the Greek consumers in touch not only with innovative Fixed telephony services but also with Broadband services.
In May of 2004, he was also involved in the active management of Tellas taking on the CEO’s position.
